DPIRDs social media sites provide relevant places to discuss the Department, our projects, initiatives, services, events and news.
The following terms of use have been designed to help provide a quality environment for everyone using the page and allow each person the opportunity to communicate their opinions and thoughts equally.
By interacting with our social media pages you agree to comply with these terms, as well as the terms and conditions set out by each social media channel. Users who repeatedly violate these terms will be reported and blocked.
Moderation
We expect that users will not publish, post, distribute or disseminate any content that is:
- Defamatory, abusive, harassing, threatening, bullying, discriminatory, racist, abusive, indecent, offensive, fraudulent or illegal material or information – including users with names and avatars that include abusive or obscene words or images,
False, misleading or deceptive,
Irrelevant to the topic being discussed. Completely off-topic comments and links to external websites unrelated to the topic are considered to be spam, or
Content that:
Constitutes a contempt of court or breaches a court order,
Discloses private or confidential information, including your own,
Encourages illegal activity, or which otherwise violates the law,
Promotes a commercial interest, or
Discloses personal details of yourself or others that could compromise the security of individuals (for example, phone numbers, addresses, licence numbers, email addresses). If you’re not sure, send us a private message instead.
Any such content will be removed.
Copyright
The material on our social media pages may only be reproduced, distributed, transmitted or otherwise used in its original and complete form.
We reserve the right to moderate, alter, crop, highlight, and/or repost content posted to our social media pages.
We expect that users will respect copyright, intellectual property and fair use by not infringing on another’s rights.
Software security
We expect that users will not:
- Upload or attach content that contains viruses, corrupted files, or any other similar software or programs that may damage the operation of another's computer,
Delete any author attributions, legal notices or proprietary designations or labels in any content that is uploaded, or
Falsify the origin or source of software or other material contained in content that is uploaded.
