Regulatory impact assessment

Prior to enactment all proposed WA State legislation is required to undergo a regulatory impact assessment by the Department of Treasury to evaluate potential impacts on business, consumers or the economy.

Proposals for the Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Management Act, which will replace the Fish Resources Management Act 1994 and the Pearling Act 1990 have been reviewed by the Department of Treasury’s Regulatory Gatekeeping Unit.
