Dr Rodney Duffy is a senior research scientist and his work is focused on delivering sustainable freshwater fisheries in Western Australia.
After completing his undergraduate degree in estuarine ecology, Dr Duffy worked in a variety of research roles, including research scientist with the Queensland Department of Agriculture and Fisheries. During this time he was involved in various projects investigating the role of habitat in structuring fish assemblages.
After completing a PhD in freshwater ecology, Dr Duffy worked at a marine research institute in China, before taking up a position at the Department of Fisheries in WA. His current research is focused on protecting ecological assets through sustainable fisheries management, biosecurity prioritisation, and conservation of the critically endangered hairy marron.
