Jurien Bay Marine Park is 150 kilometres north of Perth. The marine park begins south of Wedge Island (South Rocks) and runs to Dynamite Bay in Green Head. Within the marine park boundaries are the town sites of Green Head, Jurien Bay and Cervantes.
Jurien Bay Marine Park consists of six zone types: 'no-take' sanctuary zones, a special purpose (puerulus monitoring) zone, special purpose (scientific reference) zones, special purpose (shore-based activities) zones, aquaculture zones and a general use zone.
Recreational fishing can be enjoyed in most areas of the marine park but special rules apply in some zones. Ensure you know your zones before you go fishing by exploring the interactive map below. Click on the different zones to find out where you can and can’t fish.
Remember that Statewide recreational fishing rules (such as species, bag and size limits, seasonal closures, gear restrictions and licence requirements) also apply to fishing in Jurien Bay Marine Park.
The key species likely to be found in the waters of Jurien Bay Marine Park include western rock lobster, dhufish, pink snapper, baldchin groper, tailor, whiting, mulloway and Australian herring.
