Celebrating 50 years of the Pemberton trout hatchery

The Department’s Pemberton Freshwater Research Centre has marked it’s Golden Anniversary.

The research centre is Western Australia’s largest freshwater hatchery and research facility, supporting our trout fishery and the broader freshwater aquaculture industry.

A commemorative book, A Brief History of the Pemberton Trout Hatchery​​, has been released to recognise the hatchery’s connection to trout fishing history in Western Australia.
